MOST COMMON PROBLEMS ON A BICYCLE

Brakes

Brakes ¨..

Squeaky brakes

That loud, screechy sound your brakes make often after it rains or you pass through a muddy or dirty area. It’s super common and sounds scarier than it is. However, you just need to brake several times while the bike is moving at walking speed until the noise is gone.

Rubbing Noise

Specifically when the wheel is spinning. That soft, repetitive “shhh... shhh...” sound, your brake pads are lightly rubbing against the disc or rim as the wheel turns.

Worn-Out Brake Pads

When your brakes don’t grab as they used to or feel as if they are barely touching. Think of your brake pads like an eraser over time, with every use, they wear down bit by bit. If your brakes feel weak or take longer to stop, it’s a sign the “eraser” is almost gone and needs replacing.

None or Little Response

When you pull the brake, and it feels like it’s not doing much, kind of like pressing a button that’s not connected to anything.
