MOST COMMON PROBLEMS ON A BICYCLE

Gears

Gears ¨..

Good gears shift easily and smoothly, without any delay, grinding, or jumping. They feel crisp and precise, like flipping a light switch that always works perfectly.

Gears are not shifting

When you twist or click to change gears and nothing happens. It’s like pressing an elevator button that doesn’t light up.

Gears are getting stuck

Your gears change halfway but then they seem to get stuck. This is like trying to zip a zipper but it won’t budge.

Gears are jumping

You’re riding along and suddenly the chain skips to another gear on its own and then back to the gear it was at before. Like shuffling your playlist on your phone when you didn’t mean to.

Shifting is delayed

You shift, and the bike takes a second or two to actually respond, like a delayed reaction when someone throws you a ball.

Sudden shift in gear

Out of nowhere, your bike changes gears without you touching anything, like a TV changing the channel when the remote is nowhere near you.
