Quick Fixes
🌧️ Noisy Brakes After Rain
🔎 The problem
If your brakes only squeal when it’s wet, that’s usually nothing serious. It’s just water and dirt on the disc. The sound should disappear once things dry out.
New noise, only in rain → easy fix
Noise was there before, or continues when dry → likely contamination (needs repair or workshop)
⚡ The quick fix
🚶 Lightly brake at walking speed a few times ( 7 - 10 times)
💧 Rinse the disc brake with clean water
🧴 Use disc brake cleaner if you have
You can repeat this every time it rains. The squeak usually fades after a few stops.
⚠️ When to worry
If the noise stays around on a dry day, your pads or disc brakes are contaminated. That means repair or replacement.
❌ Never do this
✋ Don’t touch the disc (Can be hot + contamination risk)
🛢️ Don’t use oil or lubricants (they ruin pads and disc brakes)
📅 Don’t skip maintenance (check brakes every 500 km or ~6 months)
✅ In short

⚡ Quick Fix = Brake slowly several times or rinse with water or spray brake cleaner (repeat every time it rains)
⚠️ If noise persist during dry days = Repair or workshop
❌ Never do thisDon’t oil or touch the disc brake
