Oslo Sykkel Dag 2026

A one-day, street-level celebration of cycling as mobility, culture, and connection.

About the Festival

Summer 2026, Oslo SykkelKlubb is bringing people together for a one-day celebration of bicycling as mobility, culture, and connection. This festival will transform a central part of the city into a lively space for exploration, learning, and joy on two wheels. It’s a free, public event designed for everyone — from seasoned riders to those who haven’t biked in years — and aims to make cycling feel more accessible, social, and fun.

Purpose & Vision

At its heart, the festival is about more than bicycles. It’s about reimagining how we move through our city, how we connect with our surroundings, and how we build communities around sustainable choices. We believe cycling is a powerful tool for change — reducing emissions, improving public health, strengthening local economies, and connecting people to their neighbourhoods. By creating a welcoming, vibrant public space dedicated to everyday cycling, we want to help more people fall in love with moving through Oslo by bike.

Our goals:

  • Accessibility: Make cycling knowledge, resources, and support easy for anyone to access.

  • Community: Build bridges between cyclists, neighbourhood groups, local businesses, and city initiatives.

  • Momentum: Inspire small changes that make daily cycling more appealing and achievable.

What to Expect

The festival will feature a mix of hands-on activities, learning opportunities, and community experiences, including:

  • Ending Group Ride – Guided group ride showcasing a safe, scenic urban route.

  • Fix-It Lane – Drop-in repair support and “learn-by-doing” stations.

  • Family & New-Rider Zone – Skills areas, cargo-bike demos, helmet fittings, and kid-friendly cycling activities.

  • Micro-Talks & Panels – Practical talks on commuting, gear, safety, and infrastructure.

  • Try-A-Bike Corner – Opportunities to test e-bikes, adaptive bikes, and cargo solutions.

  • Circular Market – Refurbished bikes, accessories, and locally made products.

  • Community Hub – Meet advocacy groups, neighbourhood projects, and cycling collectives.

  • Drinks & Snacks – Food and drink stalls and space to gather.

Opportunities for Partners & Sponsors

This event is being built in collaboration with community groups, NGOs, local businesses, and sustainability-focused organizations. Partners are essential to shaping the experience and amplifying its impact.

Ways to get involved:

  • Programming: Lead a workshop, demo, or talk.

  • Activation: Host a stall, activity, or experience.

  • Support: Provide financial support, in-kind materials, or volunteer teams.

  • Amplification: Help us reach new audiences through networks and communications.

How Support Is Used

We know that great community events depend on strong partnerships — and that funders and sponsors want their contributions to have meaningful impact. Our funding strategy focuses on transparency, impact, and collaboration.

Here’s how we design our project to align with funding priorities:

  • More than just a bike event: We present it as a cultural, public-space, and sustainability initiative.

  • Highlight inclusion and accessibility: Free attendance, multilingual resources, and programming for all ages and abilities.

  • Emphasize sustainability: Cycling as a tool for climate action and low-emission mobility.

  • Strong partnerships: Collaboration with local NGOs, schools, and Nordic networks

  • Knowledge building and visibility: Workshops, talks, and demonstrations share practical information that creates lasting change.
