Locking up your bike

Secure your bike to something sturdy, made out of steel and fixed to the ground (not screwed). Preferably in a crowded place where an attempt at theft would be noticeable. Hidden and dark places are the best set up for thieves. Almost any lock can be cut within seconds. As a rule of thumb, you should spend 5% to 7% of the cost of the bike on a lock.

Battery

Always take the battery with you when you leave your bicycle. Stealing a battery can take less than five seconds. Charging the battery is like charging a phone, don’t over do it and don’t under do it to increase the batteries lifespan.

Bicycle Cover

A protective cover keeps your bike safe from the rain, dust, and the sun. It’s like putting on a raincoat. It also helps with theft prevention as it is an extra step which could deter thieves.
